Eagled-eyed fans of the talented singer-songwriter are abuzz about the possibility of a new project in the works, a musical. Taylor Swift's IP holding company, TAS Rights Management, LLC, has filed to register the trademark, FEMALE RAGE: THE MUSICAL, with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
The trademark application was filed in ten separate classes that cover goods and services ranging from clothing, jewelry, handbags, cell phone accessories, guitar picks, note paper, musical sound recordings, to retail store services and live musical performances and concerts. The trademark application, filed as an intent-to-use application in May 2024, is currently awaiting assignment to an examining attorney. Typically, the applicant of a newly filed application won't receive feedback from the USPTO until seven to eight months from the filing date. In most instances, a trademark application, if successful, can become registered at around the one-year mark.
Does the filing of this trademark application signal Taylor Swift's expansion of her empire to Broadway? Her post on X about her Paris show indicated that the name is merely a "new Tortured Poets section of the Eras Tour (aka Female Rage The Musical!)." We shall wait and see!
